I have a ticket. No one is getting their hands on it, it is mine!
You may ask what this ticket is for. Well, Jean Michel Jarre, the musical genius is doing a concert in Manchester on March 28th. And I have a ticket.
I am so going to enjoy this concert. I can't wait!

I am in big trouble
@ 27.01.08 – 06:22:10 pm
My boss is going to kill me when I get in tomorrow. I'd phone in sick but I'd be in even bigger trouble for that.
What can I have possibly have done to be in so much trouble you may ask?
Well, the answer is: Young, disobediant horse refered from this point on as Evil twin 1.
Evl twin 1 looks like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth, but I know different. I have ridden this horse and his slightly more evil twin brother (They most likely aren't related but they look similar and are the same height) a few times. Evil twin 1 loves nothing more than to race round in trot with total disregard for the rider for about 30 minutes before deciding that maybe he should give some attention to them. He is short in the neck, and refuses to lift his shoulders no matter what exercises you use. Getting his head off the ground take all of an hour and means sore shoulders the following day, coupled with sore thighs because of his obsession with eating. I was riding Evil twin 1 yesterday for all of 50 or so minutes. Note that it was not an hour. This is because, 50 minutes into the lesson, fed up of his total determination to NOT canter when asked, I gave him a light tap with the whip. His response was to throw the biggest buck I have ever sat through, before cantering. This I had no problem with, even though I had now lost my left stirrup. Unfortunately for me, I forgot that bit when I turned him left and moved my weight that side. Unsusrprisingly, I fell, landing left side first. Evil twin 1 came to a sudden halt. Got up, unsure whether or not I had damaged a couple of my ribs, the pain was that bad. Quickly realised that that area of me was fine, as was my left leg, if a bit battered and stiff (which it stil is today). My right thumb, however, is a totally different matter. I can move it, but it is extremely painful. Not much that I can do except to strap up my right hand, even if it's fractured. No point in going to A&E because, they woul;d just strap it up with the same bandages we have at home.
So, to sum up, the only task I am going to be capable of doing at work for the next week or so is inputting.
Somehow I don't think my boss is going to be too pleased about this.

Jean Michel Jarre - Musical Genius
@ 26.01.08 – 01:50:26 am
Most people probably would disagree with me on the title, but I believe it sums up this musician fairly well. How many other composers of the last 30 or so years can produce music that is emotive, not just something to listen to.
Take Oxygene. This album has just been re-released for the 30th anniversary and it sounds better than most of what is on offer today. And I am a fan of quite a few of those with offerings today!
The thing is, you can listen to any of his albums and hardly realise that the tracks are changing, the music is seemless. You can go from Oxygene part 1 to part 6 before you realise it.
Most people think of Oxygene part 4 when they think of the album. It's the most catchy of the tracks, but right from the start of the album you are drawn in emotionally. Below is Oxygene part 1. Listen to it without any pre concieved ideas. Just listen to the music and relax. This is chill-out music at it's best. -

Ok, maybe the title's exagerating just a teeny bit, but, guess who's going to see the Spice Girls again
?
Bet you can't guess in a million years.
Alright you probably guessed within 5 seconds and got it right. MEN arena, next Thursday. Can't wait. You're probably wondering if once wasn't enough. Well, when your coxycx locks because you've been sat on your bum for 2 hours waiting for them to come on stage, you might have an idea of just how fum the Cologne one was besides the Spice Girls.I need to redeem myself, by going again and being able to jump up and down screaming like an idiot. Nothing new there then.

Full Circle?

I have been blogging for almost a year now. Strangely enough, not much has actually changed between now and when I first started blogging last January. I am still working as a MLA, still riding, and still moaning.
This week I have been learning that ice skating only a few days after a young, spooky horse has spent an entire hour trying to kill you is definately not a good idea.
The idea was to try and gently ease the stiffness from my legs after they had been subjected to being kept locked straight for the best part of that hour. The good news is that my legs are fine.
The left side of my backside and my waist area are not. I fell twice, both times on my bum, and am still trying to work out how it is possible for ice to be harder on one part of the body than another and I'm not entirely sure what happened to cause this pain around my waist.
Then, to add insult to injury, I got lost on the way home. Typical me, I don't follow direction very well at times. Instead of somewhere I recognised, I ended up in the middle of nowhere with my car threatening to flash that scary petrol needed light at me.
I had my first argument of the year with Paul on New Year Eve at midnight. I should appologise to him I suppose, but it WAS his fault. So, that's my year so far summed up.
